Exciting September at Chesham House

15.10.2026

This September we have launched two new subject for all students in KS3 and KS4; life skills and outdoor learning.

In life skills casses students are learning a variety of skills such as ironing, how to work a washing machine and learning about bank statements; this is to enable them to be ready for the wider world. The pupils all really engage in this and are very proud of their work so far.

Outdoor education has offered a dynamic way to learn beyond the classroom walls, through immersive trips to Manchester airport, Bridgewater Gardens, Imperial War Museum and a trek up Holcombe Hill. This hands-on approach has been a resounding success, fostering skills such as resilience and teamwork while deepening their engagement with the world around them.

In September, we also launched our new games room for all students to enjoy andÌýour new library.Ìý

The game room features a wide variety of activities, including a PlayStation 5, a foosball table, a dartboard, a 3-in-1 multi-games table (pool, air hockey, and table tennis), and mindfulness colouring.

This new space has been a fantastic addition to our school community, encouraging students to connect, socialise, and build friendships before school and during break times."

We treated the students to a trip to Waterstones to celebrate our new library! All students have enthusiastically been involved and assisted with choosing categories of books of their interests. We even have a Manga section! Two of our students at Chesham House have had their poems published in ‘I Have a Dream’ book. Their imaginative ideas, multiple drafts and determination has paid off!"Ìý
