In Maths this week, we have been exploring place value, specifically numbers in the hundreds.
Yesterday, I created a place value table divided into columns of hundreds, tens, and units. I wrote a number above the table and the leaner had to place the corresponding number of pom-poms into each section. Today, after a quick recap of what we did yesterday, I decided to switch things around to challenge him a bit further. This time I placed the pom-poms into the different sections and the learner had to work out and write the complete number himself. And wow did he rise to the challenge!
After I modelled one example, he got it right on his very first attempt and continued to get it right again and again. Even better, he was enjoying himself so much he wanted to keep going! I did not even have to help him write the numbers, he did it all on his own after counting the number of pom-poms.

On our latest shopping trip, the learner did an amazing job at going to ASDA and choosing our vegetables for our Harvest Day alongside a peer in his class. The learner followed a shopping list to find the products of fruits and vegetables and picked them up and put them in a basket. He even helped scan the items at the end of our shopping trip.

The pupils in Purple Class have achieved a wonderful milestone in their independence and life skills this week by making their very own savoury dip for snack time.
Guided by visual and verbal prompts, each student confidently made their own choices to select ingredients and follow the recipe steps to create a delicious treat.
The classroom was filled with pride and excitement as they sat down together to eat and enjoy their hard work, proving just how capable and self-reliant they are becoming.
